“I always used to think that if I used the hot-water setting, my clothes would get cleaner.  I now realize this is not the case and that even the cold settings water is slightly warm.  I use the warm setting for whites and mixed loads and the cold setting for dark loads.

Simply changing the cold/warm setting instead of the hot will make a big diffence in your utility bill and your impact on the environment.”

Wow, Dino, you just made my week.   Dino, is my younger brother and one of my best friends, he is an advertising genius, he has won a gazillion awards including a PENCIL, and I recall him being flown first-class to Cannes, France in his twenties (which wasn’t that long ago) for a Cannes Ad Festival Award.  Cannes, France? I thought I was dreaming, it wasn’t even me that was going or being nominated.  I do know that most of the awards he has won, most folk in the advertising field dream of landing.  He has had some amazing clients and has had the pleasure of doing an ad for Levi and being in the ad.

He is blessed and extremely talented (of course, I’m his sister), I wish I could say that, “I taught him everything he knows”, but it just seems to ooze out of him.  I am blown away that you like the look of my webstore, granted it needs some tweaking and I did not follow any rules, I was sick of them.  Thanks, for the great compliment.  I guess siblings are alright.

“No!  This is considered bad taste.  If it says your name and “guest” on the invite, it will be indicated.   The only time you may want to ask the bride if you can bring him along is if you haven’t spoken to her in ages and she doesn’t know you now have a fiance’ or husband.  But don’t be  offended if she refuses to include him;  brides typically have to limit their guest lists because of cost and space concerns.”

dad-and-me-throwing-in-air.gif4 out of 5 folks hate their jobs.  When I heard this, I was astounded.  I try and make my day as pleasant as possible, granted that is sometimes and not always possible.  I remember being a little girl and the dilema of my day was, “Which doll do I pick to carry around all day with me, while I went shopping”, on foot, in the sunlight with my mom.  I miss being small, and not having to worry about, “Did I sign that form for my daughters teacher”, “Did I answer all my emails before I shut down my office at 8.30pm (which is ridiculous to start with)”, “Did I check my new email for customer requests?” ”Don’t forget my little one wants to try tap-dance lessons”.   It seems to me whatever we do, however hard we try, it’s just not good enough.

What happened to being happy and enjoying the day, just because.  What have we done to ourselves?  Gobal warming, middle eastern war, drinking out of plastic bottles, recycle, emails, cell phones give you brain tumors, we are so overwhelmed with everyday things, just to keep up, to be on par, and then to top it off, the 8 hours (or more for suckers like me) a day at work, 4 out of 5 folks hate what they do, or are unhappy with their job.  Let’s not do this to ourselves.  I was thinking if we all changed to do something we enjoyed, all the positions would be filled up again with the folk that really enjoy doing just that, it’s just a shuffle.  So do it, do the shuffle.  To happy, carefree days, yes?
